The Nine Gates of the Kingdom Shadows - Aristide Torchia, Venice 1666

Here the Nine Gates of the Kingdom Shadows, produced by Libriproibiti.

Here the Nine Gates of the Kingdom Shadows, produced by Libriproibiti.
The impact is a tome thick, heavy, massive, the book you would expect hides unspeakable secrets.
Indeed, is the book that makes crazy Boris Balkan in the film The Ninth Gate directed by Roman Polanski, who believes to curry the attention of Lucifer himself.
We know – or at least those who have seen the film – how it ends the story, and we know that the road that leads us to the nine gates is long and winding, but if we are ready to own this copy of the book, you can keep it there in plain sight in a bulletin board, and it will surely make you captivate the envy of your friends and … also in Him, the prince of darkness who is looking for it after more than 400 years.
Text entirely in Latin, printed on parchment paper. Hardcover full fiber black leather extremely realistic veined. Present the 9 engraves as the original book in the movie where pages are signed AT and LCF in the sequence as it appears in the book by Boris Balkan.

What text has been used for the Nine gates of the Kingdom Shadows?

The text is entirely in Latin and taken from some black magic grimoires. Some parts are purely invented and inserted as "fake text". After all, the book is a pseudobiblium, that is, a non-existent book.

If you want a Nine Gates containing a real and readable text (in English), you can search in our shop the version with the full text of "Paradise Lost", by John Milton.

The books are all handmade: printed, trimmed, sewn, and positioned in the press for the first impression. The paper protrusions at the margins are hand trimmed and leveled. The head and foot are sewn with the "capitellum" and finally the cover is prepared. After this, if provided, the paper and cover are aged by hand with special colors. Once the book is finished, it is left to "rest" for at least half a day, packaged, and shipped. In short, it takes time...! :)

To obtain a well-made book, it takes time, sometimes several days of work, but you must take into account that when you place an order, there are several orders in the production queue before you, and this number is variable. That's why we always estimate a variable delivery period that can range from 4 up to a maximum of 8 weeks to make your order and ship it. But we can say that the 8 weeks are reached during peak demand periods, between November and December, sometimes between June and July.

We usually close for 20 days in August (in Italy the temperatures make life and work impossible!) and usually between December 20 and January 7.

That's why if you have special needs (birthday gifts, Christmas, etc.), please contact us before placing your order to get an estimate on delivery!
