Where can I send the file?
The file MUST be in PDF format (with fonts included if they are not standard) to: shop@libriproibiti.com
PDF File Specifications: Page size 21 x 15 cm. If non-standard fonts have been used, please send ALL of them in a zipped file to the same email address.
What type of book can I print?
You can print and hand-bind a book you have written and formatted.
You can print and hand-bind a book in PDF format that you have, for example, downloaded from the internet.
IMPORTANT:The work MUST NOT be protected by copyright. It MUST NOT be a pirated copy of a modern edition. It MUST NOT be a modern text that has been legally purchased (e.g., an e-book).
To determine if a work is free from copyright, you must calculate 70 years from today's date: if the author passed away more than 70 years ago, the work is free from copyright. If the author was still alive, then it is not.
Is there a page limit?
Yes, the book must have a minimum of 100 pages (if fewer, blank pages will be added at the end to reach the minimum number) and a maximum of 600 pages for a single book.
Do you offer layout services?
No, we print the PDF file "as is." No modifications will be made to the file except for the addition of the colophon (last blank page) and, upon request, the Libriproibiti publisher’s mark (our logo).
If a non-standard font is used, it must be provided along with the PDF.
In any case, before proceeding, we check for any potential issues that may arise during printing. If there are any layout concerns, they will be communicated immediately, so we can decide how to proceed with the client.
Can I choose the colors of the cover?
Of course! Since it is the most complex part, and because the materials and colors need to be treated differently, we will contact you to agree on the cover. We will provide examples of covers we can create, and together we will try to create the book with the cover you desire.
Can I add extras to the cover? (Studs, gilding, etc.)
Regarding studs, these must be arranged based on availability.
We do not offer gilding (golden writing and finishes).
We can print text and images on leather, but with limitations: we can only print on light-colored leathers. No dark or highly saturated leathers, such as red, brown, or black.
How many copies can I order?
Usually one, at most two, as this is not an automated process but entirely handmade. Simply put, we cannot occupy the production queue beyond a certain limit of copies per order.
NOTE:The materials indicated may vary. Leather may differ in color and texture, as it is a natural product and is never exactly the same.
